Rückle GmbH designs the base unit as a Hirth gear tables with face gear rings, which provide lasting dividing accuracy and excellent rigidity.The table can be of the lifting or no-lifting type. The indexing motion derives from a rack and pinion drive with hydraulic actuation. The non-lifting type is used for high moments of inertia and short indexing times. The indexing motion is powered by a servo motor with bevel/spur gear drive -- to a pinion meshing with a large-diameter gear. Locking and unlocking of the face gears is by hydraulic actuation.
